Latest Updates from Our Project:

Production Mini Samples
over 1 year ago – Sun, Aug 13, 2023 at 10:29:53 AM

Hey guys! It's been a crazy few weeks, but we're finally back with a new update. This will be short, but I think you'll like it anyway. Let's jump in!

Gen Con

Last week (and early this week), I was in Indianapolis for Gen Con. It was a hectic, insane time but also a ton of fun. Massive shoutout to our awesome backers, Bill (Ninjaoffduty) and Jim (Bobosavenger), for your help at the booth. Without you guys, it wouldn't have been possible. Thank you. =)

Also, thanks to all of you who stopped by and said hi! It was great to meet you or see you again in person.

Couldn't make it to Gen Con? No worries. I will do a live stream likely next month, covering new stuff we had there and just hanging out with you guys. (It will probably be September at the soonest so that I can focus on getting as much DM stuff ready for the factory as possible.) Also, all of our new things for the con were focused on our next game, Celestial, so you didn't miss any DM-specific content.

Things were so crazy that I pretty much completely forgot to take pictures or videos of Gen Con or the booth (my bad. LOL.) But I got at least a few (unfortunately glary and photo-bombed) pictures of our display case. Here they are!

Here's the whole display case.
Here's the top shelf.
The second shelf.
The third shelf.
The fourth shelf.
The Dawn of Madness shelf.
The Deep Madness shelf!

Anyway, my apologies that these are the only pictures I got from Gen Con, and they weren't better quality. Hopefully, you still enjoyed these (admittedly crummy) images.

Madness Reborn Trays

Okay, let's move from Gen Con pictures to something more interesting: the Madness Reborn mini samples! Let's start with the minis in their double-layered trays. These trays may not be completely finalized, but they'll give you a good idea of what to expect. Here we go:

The miniatures in their two stacked trays.
Another angle of the two trays.
The two trays separated.
Here is the first tray by itself.
And here's the second tray by itself.

Epic Investigators

Now let's break down our Epic Investigator minis! Here is William in all his glory!

Here's William!
Here's the back view of him.
And here's the side view.

Now, here's Regan!

Here's Regan's front view!
Here's her side view.
And here's an alternate front view.

The Epic Monsters!

Now, we get into the Epics themselves! First up, we have Dimension Breach!

Here's Dimension Breach's front side!
Dimension Breach's side profile.

Next, let's see Insidious Matriarch!

Here's Insidious Matriarch!
Here's her side view.
And her other side.
Here's the front of her egg.
The back of the egg.

Next up, we have Spawn of the Dreamer!

Here's the front of Spawn of the Dreamer.
And here's a side profile.
Here's the front of a tentacle.
And the back.

Now, let's move on to Alpha Ravenous.

Alpha Ravenous's front.
A different angle.

And onto Drifter Lord!

And another angle.

Moving on, we have Penitent Sorrow.

And lastly, her back.

But what is Penitent Sorrow without Forsaken Rage?

Here's Forsaken Rage.
And another angle of him.

And last but certainly not least, one of my personal favorites, Devourer of Realms.

Devourer of Realms from the front, looking mighty fetching.
Getting his close-up.

Okay, that's the end of the Madness Reborn pictures, but we still have more to show you! Here are a few looks at the reprint minis being produced at the factory!

The Reprint Minis at the Factory

Now we have a few pictures of the reprint minis being produced in the factory. Enjoy!

Some Delirium bits.
Some Ravenous parts!
Agony torsos.
Hysteria snake bodies! (I think.)
Investigators!
More Investigators! (Featuring Isaac Clarke.)
I believe these are Blind bodies? Sorry, my vision isn't what it used to be.
Here are some Husks!
MOAR Investigators! (Featuring Charles Ryan.)

Okay, that's it for this update! We'll be back before long with another one, but I hope you've enjoyed this look at the Madness Reborn and reprint minis. Have a great August, and we'll talk with you again soon!

A Trip to the Factory and Other Stuff
over 1 year ago – Wed, Jul 05, 2023 at 12:10:56 PM

Hey guys! I hope you had a great June, and that those in the US had a Happy 4th of July! (And still have all of your limbs!)

The team took a trip to the factory at the end of last month, so we have some cool pics of miniature pieces for you today. Let's take a look!

DG Goes to the Factory

As mentioned above, some of the team went over to the factory to discuss things and look at our current progress. While there, they also took some pictures of current miniature samples! Here are some quick and dirty images of pieces fresh from the molds.

Here are some Drifter Lord bits, complete with sprues!
Some more Drifter Lord fragments.
Some Spawn of the Dreamer splooshes.
Spawn of the Dreamer wings and extremities!
Gonna be honest: I'm not sure who these tentacles belong to. Probably Drifter Lord. LOL!
Yeah, going to say Drifter Lord again.
Look at all those eggs!
Sweet, sweet tentacles!
Wow. This is a lot of tentacle pictures...

We'll have many more pictures in our next update, but hopefully, that helps whet your appetite.

Speaking of miniature production, the factory has finished all of the miniature tooling tests.  We are satisfied with the miniature's quality,  sharpness, and hardness, which means we are ready to move into mass production for them. According to the factory's schedule, the final mass production process will begin on July 15th. The whole process should finish in September.

Printing Progress

This brings us to the printed components. We are still working on finalizing these and plan to submit all of the files in August. The factory then plans to have these finished in September, as well, after which we will move into assembly, packaging, and the shipping process.

Gen Con

Just in case the next update is a bit late (this will be a busy month),  I thought I'd go ahead and mention Gen Con. DG will be back at Gen Con this year. So, if you plan on being in Indianapolis in early August, stop by and say hi! I'd love to see you/meet you in person! We will be at booth #2471, which is once again back in the exhibitor nosebleed section. LOL! (On the plus side, we're right by the rear bathrooms, so you'll probably run into us eventually.)

Can't make it to Gen Con? No worries. I'll show all the Gen Con goodies online during or after the convention so you won't miss out. (It's been a long time since our last live stream, so maybe that time is drawing near again.)

Okay, that's it for this update! A shorter one, I know, but hopefully, it gets you excited. Just as a reminder, if you need help with your pledge, email me at [email protected]. We're getting closer to putting this in your hands! Have a great July, and I'll talk to you again soon!

Progress, Timeline, and Pledge Manager
over 1 year ago – Thu, Jun 15, 2023 at 11:20:10 AM

Hey guys! As promised, here is another update following the closing of the pledge manager. Let's answer some questions and discuss where we're at in the timeline.

Pledge Manager Locked

The pledge manager is officially locked. What does that mean exactly? Well, it means we have officially locked finalized orders and charged credit cards. However, I expect there are still some questions people have about this, so let's talk about those.

Q: Can I still change my shipping address?

A: Yes. You will be able to change your shipping address by logging into your pledge right up until we start the shipping process. If you don't know where to find your pledge, go to https://deep-madness-reborn.backerkit.com/.

Q: Can I still make changes to my order?

A: You can still change your order, just not on your own. (Assuming it's already locked, of course.) Email me at [email protected], and I'll help you make any necessary alterations.

Q: What if I have a problem?

A: As mentioned above, email me at [email protected], and I'll help you.

Q: I didn't finish my pledge in time. Can I still do that?

A: Yes. We will still allow you to finish your pledge for a while yet. We just needed to finalize all the pledges we could to pay the manufacturers. (More on that below.) If you have a question on this, email me.

Q: Will you still accept late-pledge preorders?

A: Yes. For a while, at least.

Okay, I think that's all of the questions I could come up with for the pledge manager. Feel free to email me if you have something else, and I'll look into it for you. (Emailing me is a much, MUCH better way of contacting us than Kickstarter messages, by the way.) Let's move on to our current progress!

Progress Update

We made quite a bit of progress this month. I finished editing all the cards for the core game and a good chunk of the other cards in the investigator pledge. I expect to have the rest of the card editing done relatively soon and will then move on to the rulebooks and Madness Reborn.

Meanwhile, manufacturing is moving forward. We hoped to have more pictures for you from the miniature testing/production, but the factory has been pretty busy recently and couldn't get them to us in time for this update. However, our team members will be heading to the factory within the next two weeks, so we should hopefully have some good stuff to share by our next update. So stay tuned for that!

Timeline Update

At this point, it does look like we'll be a little late with this campaign, but not by much. With our current progress, it seems like we will be able to submit all of our files to the factories in August. The manufacturing process will take approximately two months to complete from there, meaning we'll be looking to ship around October.

Okay, I think that's it for this update! Have a great June, and we'll talk with you guys again soon!

Heads up! Pledge Manager Closes May 31st!
over 1 year ago – Mon, May 22, 2023 at 07:39:40 PM

Hey, my friend! This is a quick update to inform you that we will be locking the Backerkit pledge manager on May 31st. What does this mean for you? Let's take a look.

1. If you still need to finalize your pledge, now is the time to do it. If you need to get access to your pledge, you can find it here: https://deep-madness-reborn.backerkit.com/

2. If you need help with your pledge, email me at [email protected]. I've been working through emails the last couple of weeks, but it's possible I haven't gotten to yours yet or missed you. So, if you haven't heard back from me yet, feel free to email me again, and I'll be sure to help you out.

3. You can still change your pledge or update your address after the pledge manager closes. If you need to change your pledge, email me, and I'll make the change for you. Furthermore, you'll be able to change your address on your own by logging into your Backerkit pledge right up until we start shipping.

4. We will charge credit cards once we've locked the pledge manager. This means we will charge your card around the 31st if you used the Backerkit payment option rather than the PayPal option when finalizing your pledge.

5. Once we have the final totals from the PM, we will submit the numbers to our factories to lock in our order. At that point, we'll be able to start production as soon as we and the factory have finished the last pre-production items.

It sounds like we will have another update around the time we close the PM, so I'll keep this one pretty short for now. (Though I will say we've been making progress on the proofreading work.)

Okay, that's it for this update! We'll talk to you guys in a few more days!

Pictures from the Factory, PM Lockdown Coming, and Regan Unlocked!
over 1 year ago – Sun, Apr 30, 2023 at 02:28:54 AM

Hello, my friend! I hope you've had a great month. We have some fun stuff to show you and tell you about in this update, so let's get going.

Pledge Manager

First, we plan to lock the pledge manager orders by the end of May. We will announce the specific date as we move further into May, so stay tuned for that. Having said that, if you need to finalize your survey, now is the time to do it!

At the moment, 64% of backers have completed their orders, so we still need to hear from quite a few of you. If you need to regain access to your PM, you can access it at https://deep-madness-reborn.backerkit.com/. Or you can also log into your Backerkit backer account to get in there at https://www.backerkit.com/backer_accounts/sign_in. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us via [email protected] or [email protected]. And for those of you who have contacted me with a question or have needed help, you have my sincere apologies for not replying to you yet. I will try to get back to you this coming week. Regardless, you will be answered before we close the PM, so don't worry. I will get back to you. I promise.

Regan Unlocked!

I looked at our preorder store today and saw something very, very cool. We are currently at $814,033. That means that we have officially unlocked Enlightened Regan! Woohoo!

Regan will now be added to every copy of Madness Reborn as our second Epic Investigator. We can't wait for you to give this dynamic, dangerous new breed of investigator a spin! We'll have more info about her in our next update.

Pictures from the Factory

The tooling process for the new Madness Reborn minis is nearly complete. To celebrate this upcoming milestone, here are a few pictures the factory sent us of the process and where they are now. Enjoy!

Here's a picture of the initial plaster mold for a mini. The rubber mold is made on top of this.
After the plaster molds, we come to the rubber molds. These are used as the basis for the steel molds.
Here's another look at the rubber molds.
And finally, we come to the steel molds!
Here is a steel mold being polished.
Here is another polishing picture, this time on the inside of the mold.
The mold is starting to come together now.
On to polishing the next mold...
You'll notice a test sample lying beside this mold as it's being worked on.
Look at that shiny steel mold!

 Progress Update

Now let's get into how things are progressing.

1. Reprinted Materials

1) The miniatures' manufacturing process for the reprinted products has already begun at the factory. They have almost finished all the prep work for the production process. After we settle the order numbers later next month, everything will get rolling in earnest.

2) We've finished the graphic and layout revisions for the printed materials. We are still working on proofreading but should make some good progress in this area in the near future.

2. Madness Reborn

1) As shown above, the tooling process for the new miniatures is well underway at the factory. In fact, it's now almost finished.

2) The game testing is finished. The next step is to work on the scenarios' rules and background stories.

Okay, that's it for this update! We'll be in touch soon to let you know when exactly we'll close the pledge manager and remind you before we officially finalize it. Have a great week, and we'll talk again soon!
